3. GDPR

Selling on EU markets? With one click (literally) you can make your store GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) compliant. But you can spend 5 more minutes and personalize the cookies notice and badge to looks exactly the way you want.

Activation

You only need to check the field GDPR status in order to make your store GDPR compliant. GDPR Activation

Note that if you don’t configure the text of the notices the default values will be in English.

How it works?

In order to track data from the users and be GDPR compliant, it’s necessarily to ask to the store visitors about gathering their data. There’s two type of data, Marketing and Statistics. The visitors will be asked for both. Only events and tags of the type of data accepted will be fired.

If you don’t activate this feature both type of data will be sended as Accepted by default to Google Tag Manager. Note that this is illegal in EU markets.

If you activate the GDPR feature a notice will be shown to the visitors, asking them to Accept (or not) what kind of data the site can gather from them (Marketing and Statistics). Once the visitors configures and accept the changes a badge will be displayed in order to allow them to change this configuration at any time.
